1962 Tudor Sedan

John Holden's 1962 Tudor Sedan

I bought this car on 7-11-96 from my next door neighbor who is a typical little old lady who only used the car for grocery shopping. The car was garage-kept all its life and had only 46,000 miles when I bought it. It had never been repainted nor did it have any body damage, aside from some parking lot dings and a couple of rust spots about the size of a dime.

I promptly restored the body by stripping the car to bare metal and removing everything that could be removed including doors, trunk, hood, and all glass. I changed the color from the original white to 97 Mustang Tangerine clearcoat. I had to go over the whole car because it sat for about 5 years after the lady stopped driving. I replaced the gas tank and fixed everything that needed fixing.

Stuff already done:

New paint job. Rechromed bumpers and trim. Tinted windows. H4 halogen headlights. Blue dots in the taillights. 16 gallon mustang tank painted body color. Enlarged fuel pickup in the tank with all AN fittings, braided lines, electric fuel pump and hi-flow filter. New carpet. New headliner. Bucket seats with new foam and '63 black upholstery. Console. Painted interior metal with black Imron.

Plans for the near future:
  1. Granada disc brake/dual master cylinder swap along with all new suspension parts in the front end and lower the upper control arm mounting points like Shelby did in the Mustangs.
  2. If time allows before the summer, also a mini tub job including 9" rear with coilover shocks ladder bars and nodular case with detroit locker.
  3. Weld brand ultralight wheels all around with 26X10 BFG Drag Radials in the back.
  4. I want to go to the National this year!

Plans for the not so near future:
  1. Finish building a 302 engine with Twisted wedge heads, Boss rods and custom pistons.
  2. Install new engine with either a Tremec TKO or a toploader depending on money situation at the time (I already have a toploader which has the right tailshaft for the falcon).
  3. Install subframe connectors.
